A Pleasant Trip to Village Mulkhed

Yesterday we visited Mulkhed village around 10 kms from Hinjewadi. Immediately, we could feel difference in the air. Its a small and a very cute village. We visited Khandoba temple on a small hill nearby. The 360 degree panoramic view from top of the hill is enchanting. Its very refreshing for every one of us.
During this visit I realized/learned few things thought I would jot down.

I realized that village people are so welcoming and accommodative. In a true sense they follow "Athithi Devo Bhava". They feel happy to serve the guests. After climbing down the temple we visited one of the volunteer's home just to get freshen up. Obviously after climbing down everyone was feeling hunger in their tummy and we were served with delicious boiled ground nuts. Everyone tried their maximum hand on it :) and in no time so many ground-nuts were remained only with their covers. The thing I realized that 10 out 11 people were visiting first time this home and everybody was feeling at home :). Ek apnapan ka mohol tha... every one was very relaxed and enjoying :). I doubt if any of us felt any kind of indifference?

After that we had very energetic Satsang in nearby Devi temple, thanks to Ankit bhaiya :). One thing noticed that in general energy level is high in village temple.

After the Satsang, as we were set to return, other volunteer offered to have dinner. I was surprised so many peoples that too almost unknown and even I would have hesitated if a bunch of sudden guests were at my home. Upon his kind request we visited his home and we were offered with fresh mango-juice (Aamras to be exact in marathi). Certainly they have very big heart. We are in abundance and abundance is our nature and they follow it. They are in knowledge that how much a tough/big task there is some higher power to help you out. Probably farmers come across it on day to day basis and that's why they are so accommodative. Infact this is the culture of our country. That's why nobody could still shake India though it had been invaded and looted by so many people. Still India welcomes all :).

We in city life, with the tech gadgets around turning into more self-centered? What can we do for the farmers on village our whole life is founded?

We need to preserve and nurture this very Indian culture and at the same time we should be providing all the basic/modern facilities which makes a village self-sufficient preserving its all natural virgin beauty. I would say there should be an exchange of good things between city and village life. We should learn from them and offer what good we have. We need to respect and help the innocent and devotional farmer.

In the end, worthy to say all this happened with Guru grace. Everything was happening so smoothly and effortlessly. I am sure every one felt light in the heart at end of this visit, this is what seva brings however it may be little. I hope this small step would takes ahead.

Yes, of course in the end we got a Guru-Prasad fresh mangoes for everyone from one more volunteer :)
